Information
The Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce is the successor to the Giulia Spider Veloce (1962-1965) and the Duetto (1966-1967) and was designed by Pininfarina. The Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce was introduced in 1967 (the 1750 version); the 2000 version was introduced in 1971. The car is equipped with a complete aluminium four-cylinder engine with a double overhead camshaft, a five-speed gearbox and disc brakes all around. In contrast to various convertible cars of that time, the Spider Veloce has a very handy construction for its drop-head: the top can be opened and closed in less than 10 seconds! Compared with the British "roadsters" out of the 1960s and 1970s, the Spider Veloce is not really a sports car but more of a competitive convertible touring car, or an open GT, if you like: practical, spacious, easy to handle and fast.
