Leonard Lord, Austin Motor Corporation chief contacted Donald Healey immediately and bought the car's production-rights before the show was opened...
Donald Healey built the Healey with Austin parts which was ideal for the step Austin took. Austin Motor Co. saw the Healey as the perfect answer on Triumphs successful TR sports car which sold very well in the United States.

The Austin Healey 3000, also known as the "Big Healey", was produced between 1959 and 1968. The Healey 3000 was the follow-up to the successful 100/4 and 100/6 Healey's. The 3000 was the first Healey fitted with power-assisted brakes and disc brakes on the front wheels. The 3000 was to be the last "big" Austin Healey

Austin Healey 3000 Mk I, year 1960. Colour Colorado red with a red leather interior trimmed with black piping. Black soft top and tonneau cover. This fantastic 'Big Healey' was extensively restored a few years ago. The automobile is in superb (excellent+) condition! A photo reportage of the restoration present. Fitted with overdrive and chrome wire wheels.
