Austin Motor
Company discovered the Healey day before the opening of the "Earls
Court Motorshow" in the year 1952 at the show-booth of the Healey
Motor Corporation. The Austin Healey 3000, also known as the "Big Healey", was produced between 1959 and 1968. The Healey 3000 was the follow-up to the successful 100/4 and 100/6 Healey's. The 3000 was the first Healey fitted with power-assisted brakes and disc brakes on the front wheels. The 3000 was to be the last "big" Austin Healey. Six cylinder
engine Austin Healey 3000 Mk I (BT-7), year 1961. Colour Ice blue metallic with a blue leather interior and blue weather equipment. This magnificent 'Big Healey' was extensively restored and overhauled. The automobile is in superb (excellent+) condition and the car drives perfect! The car was modestly and subtly prepared for historic (touring) rallies. The suspension was upped a bit and, an oil sump protector was fitted, the brake system was up rated to a dual circuit system, bigger bore SU carburettors were mounted and the engine was fast road tuned to about 150 DIN bhp. The bumpers were deleted for a more racy appearance. The car further more features overdrive, Minilite style wheels with central wheel nuts and additional driving lamps. This Healey is a very desirable driver car in fantastic condition! This
classic car was sold to the Netherlands info@imparts.nl |
