The Jaguar XK
120 was introduced in 1948, and caused an immediate sensation. The XK
120 had a top speed of 120 miles an hour (about. 200 km/h) and was the
fastest production car for sale at that time. The XK 120 was designed by
Jaguar’s boss and founder William Lyons. The bodywork had an almost
sculptural design, with sober, well-chosen flowing lines and beautiful
curves. With its exquisite long bonnet and elongated wing lines, the XK
120 has a very dynamic charisma. Six cylinder
in-line engine (DOHC) Jaguar XK 120 OTS (Open Two Seater / roadster), year 1950. Chassis number 670612, engine number W 1351-8. Colour bronze with a biscuit/tan leather interior. This early metal body Jaguar XK 120 was extensively and perfectly 'body off restored' a few years ago. the automobile is in concours (show) condition. A Heritage certificate is present; this is a 'matching numbers' car. This XK 120 shows fantastic original details like the disc wheels and the 'spats' over the rear wheels. Further more the car is fitted with additional spot lamps at front and a beautiful 4-spoke steering wheel with wood rim. The rare polished metal lamps on the front wings were only fitted to the scarce aluminium bodied cars and to the earliest XK's with metal body work. This tremendous Jaguar XK 120 roadster has participated in the Mille Miglia Storiche in the years 2009, 2011 and 2012 and in the Gran Premio Nuvolari in the hands of a well known Italian business man.
