The Daimler Sovereign is the luxury sister model of the Jaguar 420. This model was introduced in 1966 as the successor of the Jaguar S-type. The cars were positioned above the Daimler V8 and the Jaguar Mk II. The Sovereign and 420 were more spacious and they offered an even more comfortable ride. The Sovereign/420 featured a dual circuit brake system, independent suspension all round and a limited slip differential. The automobiles were fitted with the powerful 4235 cc. Jaguar XK engine. The Jaguar 420 was built until 1968 (9600 cars) and the Daimler Sovereign was built until 1969 (5700 cars.)

Information

Daimler Sovereign, year 1968. Chassis number 1A 34284 BW, engine number 7A 34738-8. Colour British Racing Green with a beige leather interior. This very beautiful and very comfortable Daimler is in superb (excellent++) condition, near concours, and the car drives like new! The automobile was sold new at Statstones of London. The car drove only 40.000 miles ever since and the full history is known.
Owners: 1. Name unknown, this owner drove 14.000 miles with the car. 2. Mario Messina, London (bought the Daimler from Coys on April 14 1969 and kept the car for 35 years. 3. Stuart Sinclair, bought the car on August 28, 2005. 4.  Pat Curran, Galway, Ireland, bought the car in July 2009. The last owner had the car given a fantastic new professional paintjob from the bare metal!

This delightful Daimler Sovereign shows all original details. The automobile features an automatic gearbox and power steering. The Daimler Sovereign is seldom seen car and in this pristine condition scarce! This is without doubt one of the most beautiful and best specimen you will find!
