Information
The Jaguar Mk
V 3.5 Litre DHC was presented in the year 1948 as successor of the
Jaguar Mk IV. The Mk V was in fact a face lifted Mk IV. The Mk V was
given a new front with integrated head lamps and some technical updates
were carried out. The car was fitted with a hydraulic brake system and a
torsion bar independent front suspension. Six cylinder
in-line engine Jaguar Mk V 3.5 Litre Drop Head Coupe, year 1950. Colour two-tone, silver metallic over blue metallic. Blue mohair hood. Blue leather interior and blue carpet. This delightful and rare Jaguar Mk V was sold new in the USA. The automobile was obtained by the current owner in the year 2005. Then a nut and bolt restoration started which was finished in 2008. This fine automobile is in superb (excellent+) condition! The bodywork and wooden frame were restored as was the chassis which was fully paint stripped (sand blasted) and powder coated. Many metal parts were galvanised and exterior parts brand new chromed. All the mechanics were extensively overhauled (engine, gearbox, brakes, etc) and a new wiring loom was fitted. The interior and hood were restored/renewed in the UK. This Mk V DHC drives absolutely splendid, the car drove only 1500 km. since completion of the restoration. This
classic car was sold to Belgium by Smiths - Veglia
