The Triumph
TR 5, and the TR 250 for the American market, is the successor of the
Triumph TR 4. The car came onto the market in the year 1967. The
appearance of the TR 5/ TR 250 was, except for the grille, the same as
the last of the TR 4's, the TR 4 A. The improvements to the TR concept
could be found under the bonnet; instead of a carbureted four cylinder
engine the TR 5 shows a cast iron six cylinder engine with petrol
injection and a capacity of 150 SAE hp, the TR 250 shows the same six
cylinder engine but fitted with dual Stromberg carburettors and 105 DIN
hp. The Triumph TR 5 was the first British production car equipped with
petrol injection. 6 cylinder
in-line engine Triumph TR 5 PI, year 1968. Colour dark blue with a black leather interior trimmed with white piping. Black carpet, black soft top and hood cover. This fabulous Triumph TR 5 PI (petrol injection) is concours (show) condition! At some time in the past 4 decades the engine was replaced, no matching numbers. The automobile was fully restored in the years 1994/1995 (photo reportage of the restoration present). The car has driven 4250 km. ever since. The car drives and feels absolutely better than new! This TR 5 PI features a fantastic original Triumph radio, overdrive, a steering wheel with wooden rim and chrome wire wheels. Triumphs TR5's are rare. In this fantastic condition almost impossible to find! This
