Four cylinder engine Lancia
Augusta cabriolet by Pinin Farina, year 1936. Chassis number 34.3662,
engine number 88.153323. Colour dark blue with a dark red leather
interior, black rubber carpets and a black hood. 3109 Lancia Augusta 234 'rolling platforms' of unitary
structure were built and delivered to coach builders between 1934 and
1936. This Lancia Augusta was sold new in Switzerland. The automobile
started life as a steel bodied Pinin Farina cabriolet in 1936. During
world War 2 the car was partly re-bodied by most probably the Swiss firm
of Langenthal. The whole interior, the dash and front screen, the hood and the complete rear part of the car are
still typical Pininfarina. The front section and the doors were
beautifully re-styled. Where other Augusta saloons and cabriolets show
off a 'boxy' styling with separate head lamps, separate mud guards and a
square grille this Lancia Augusta shows beautifully flowing and sloping
lines, fully enveloped wings, integrated head lamps and a very elegant
grille. Price: on request, please call. Smiths - Veglia
